Discovery
the many rooms in our home. The front octagon is affectionately
known as the library, where there are perfect views over the tropical
garden and rainforest covered mountain ranges making this our
favourite room to read and snooze in the afternoons.
The
rear octagon in the home is our evening sitting room which overlooks
the pool area, gardens and our rainforest.
All
rooms open through double French doors to covered verandahs. There
are many tables,chairs and lounges to where you can just purely
revitalise yourself. The waterfall in the pool area and tropical
birdsong ensures you will unwind and make this a memorable holiday.
Explore
the palm fringed beaches along our magical coastline. Where else
can you be so close to the Great Barrier Reef with rainforest
covered mountains as your back drop. Or merely walk down to our
Crystal Cascades. This takes you into a fantastic gorge with the
most beautiful cool swimming holes. This is all part of the Wet
Tropics Heritage area. Make all your days here be as much as or
as little as you choose to make them.
Take
a self drive adventure. Venture to the Atherton Tablelands where
you reach the cool, lush unspoilt beauty of farmland, rainforest,
volcanic craters, lakes and rich dairy country with its touch
of the 'Australian outback'.
Drive
north along a spectacular coast line to Port Douglas, a mere 45
minutes from here. Continue to meander through canefields and
mountains to the Mossman Gorge and to Daintree. This is
all in easy reach from Nutmeg Grove.
For
another wonderful day outing, go south to Innisfail and on to
Bingil Bay, Mission and South Mission Beach. For something quite
different take the water taxi across to Dunk Island for a few
hours and look back onto the Australian mainland.
Other
short day outings are to go and be wrecked on Green or Fitzroy
Island. All boats depart from Cairns Trinity Inlet - a 20 minute
drive from here.
