travel on the Kuranda
Scenic Railway : a 90 minutes journey on the train. You can
choose whether to take the train or skyrail first. It does not matter
as a bus will transfer you back to you vehicle or accommodation.The
original Kuranda Scenic Railway is a spectacular journey comprising
unsurpassed views of World Heritage Listed rainforest, steep ravines
and picturesque waterfalls within the Barron Gorge National Park.
Constructed between 1882 and 1891 it is considered an engineering
feat of tremendous magnitude. Hundreds of men were employed to build
the 15 hand-made tunnels and 37 bridges that stand as a monument
to the pioneers of tropical North Queensland.
Aboriginal
Cultural Park - Tjapukai : A unique park presenting the History,
Culture and Dance of this tribe. Located adjacent to Skyrail. It
is recommended that you take a minimum of 2 hours for the various
theatres -
The Magic Space - A museum artspace.
The Creation Theatre - A performance theatre where live
actors interact with giant holograms. Told in the Tjapukai language
the story depicts the spiritual and traditional beliefs of the Tjapukai
people.

120 years since the coming of the whites, and retelling the effects
of modern man’s impact on a 40,000 year old culture - and
